HI-ZEX MILLION is an ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene that was originally developed by Mitsui Chemicals. The average molecular weight of HI-ZEX MILLION, ranging from 500,000 to 6,000,000, is incomparably greater than that of ordinary polyethylene.

Because of its outstanding properties, HI-ZEX MILLION is used in a variety of fields: electronic material, industrial material, medical equipment and food manufacturing, etc.

HI-ZEX MILLION’s density of 930-950 kg/m3 is one of the lowest among engineering resins, and can decrease the weight of the product. In addition, since HI-ZEX MILLION does not absorb moisture, HI-ZEX MILLION is not subject to swelling or hydrolysis, and preliminary drying is unnecessary before molding.

HI-ZEX MILLION has a broad range of grade lineups, including hygienic safety grades conforming to FDA specifications, to meet a variety of needs.

  • Abrasion resistance

HI-ZEX MILLION’s abrasion resistance is higher than that of metals such as carbon steel and brass, and is several to more than 20 times as high as that of ordinary polyethylene.

  • Impact resistance

The impact strength of polyethylene rises as its molecular weight increases. The impact strength of polyethylene reaches its highest level at a molecular weight of 2,000,000. HI-ZEX MILLION’s impact resistance is higher than that of other resins and ordinary polyethylene, and it is maintained at extremely low temperatures.

  • Self-lubrication

HI-ZEX MILLION’s low coefficient of friction allows the un-lubricated sliding of parts that are in contact with metal surfaces without frictional seizing. Furthermore, because of its hydrophobic nature, any water-containing slurry of minerals will not deposit on HI-ZEX MILLION.

  • Chemical resistance

HI-ZEX MILLION demonstrates excellent chemical resistance and shows high stability against acids and alkalis.
